JOB TITLE:​ ​Power Systems Engineer

REPORTS TO​: ​Technical Manager

LOCATION: ​Sydney, Australia

 

 


JOB PURPOSE/SUMMARY DETAILS
  • Undertaking technical studies and assessments required by external power system bodies, especially for Grid Connection, GPS and technical DD. 
  • Scoping and review of grid/connection related studies undertaken by external consultants.
  • Training and development of other team members with respect to technical software packages and modelling.
 


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES 
  • Provide support to project teams as required to meet project technical demands.
  • Work and coordinate with partners to troubleshoot on grid matters, to minimize the commercial and technical risks.
  • Working with the grid team to develop grid strategy for successful project development.
  • Inputs to the technical part of EPC contract, including the technical standard and requirement.

  • Guidance on grid connection testing and performance assessment for contract resolution. ● Education of staff members on how various software packages
 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

EXPERIENCE

  • Strong understanding of Power Systems and solar farm design.
  • Understanding of of power systems regulation and design
  • Understanding of the Renewables market in Australia
  • Strong power system engineering, ideally with network and solar farm planning/design capability
  • Ability to use standard suite of energy generation and electrical systems modelling software packages.
  • Working across multi-discipline teams.
  • Understanding of standards and requirement of solar farm.
  • Experience of network planning and key NSP issues
  • Technical experience in the achievement and management of grid connections
  • Experience of grid regulatory issues in

QUALIFICATIONS

● Degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
