A client of JDRoss who develop and own their own their own battery storage assets across Europe are looking for field engineers to support their projects in Hungary. AS part of their expansion they are providing services to already running assets and this role will be crucial to their growth in Hungary.
The main purpose for this position will be to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and similar renewable energy infrastructures, involving site visits, hardware/software maintenance, performance monitoring, and providing technical support to customers and internal teams.
Key ResponsibilitiesMaintenance & Troubleshooting: Conduct routine and preventative maintenance, fault diagnostics, and reactive repairs on BESS and other energy systems.
Technical Support: Provide phone and remote support to customers and assist colleagues with technical queries and complex system fault-finding.
Performance Monitoring: Monitor system performance and conduct data assessments, ensuring high operational standards.
Software & Firmware Updates: Install and manage software and firmware upgrades for BESS units.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) procedures, perform risk assessments, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Reporting & Administration: Maintain accurate records of site activities, complete daily logs, manage spare parts, and contribute to administrative duties like timesheets and vehicle checks.
Commissioning: Assist with major installation and commissioning activities for BESS and other systems.
Product Improvement: Collaborate with the in-house system engineering group to provide feedback and suggestions for product development based on field experience.
Skills & Qualifications- A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is often required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential for effective troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with power systems and relevant software tools (like MATLAB, PSS/E) is beneficial.
- Experience with BESS, PV systems, and/or energy storage units is highly valued.
- Ability to work independently, manage assigned sites, and maintain positive professional relationships with customers and subcontractors.
