Director of Commercial Origination (PPA) - Solar & BESS 

I am leading the hiring for an IPP Utility Scale / DG Solar and Battery Storage developer with active projects in regulated and deregulated markets such as CAISO, WECC, MISO, SPP, SERC, ERCOT, PJM, & NYISO. With an active multi-GW pipeline, they need renewable a market expert to create and maintain relationships with developers and utilities to negotiate and sign power purchase agreements (PPA).

Essential job functions:

• Negotiating and signing power purchase agreements for solar & BESS projects.
• Utilizing existing and new relationships with developers and utilities. 
• Understanding the complexities of renewable energy development (solar and storage), offtake, PPA origination, negotiation, etc.
• Supporting the development of long-term organizational strategy.
• Conducting research and analyses of operational effectiveness, processes, stakeholders, etc.
• Aligning departmental goals, processes and resource allocation with the organizational strategy.
• Assessing market trends and competitors.
• Identifying threats and opportunities.
• Presenting findings, projections, and recommended actions.
• Planning, implementing, and managing proposed recommendations and projects.
• Monitoring and reporting on projects.
• Supporting and guiding senior executive decision-making processes.

Requirements:

• Degree in business or related field, MBA preferred.
• Renewable Energy experience in CAISO, WECC, MISO, SPP, SERC, ERCOT, PJM, or NYISO.
• 6+ years of experience in consulting or strategic planning.
• Strong financial analysis, quantitative, and modelling skills.
• High proficiency with Excel required.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Work in a fast-paced environment.
