Senior WHS Advisor - Renewables
$168000 - $190000 per annum
JD Ross Energy are exclusively partnered with a leading Australian owned renewable energy company that develop, own and operate renewable energy assets country wide.
Our client is looking for a Senior WHS Advisor, to work on their owners team and to oversee their subcontractors constructing and delivering the project, which is based just outside of Wellington, in the Central West region of NSW. You will need to be within driving distance of this project, our client can provide relocation assistance.
Reporting to the WHS Manager – Delivery and Operations, the Senior Work, Health and Safety Advisor – Delivery is responsible for managing all aspects of work health and safety associated with our clients project development including provision of safety advice, undertaking audits and inspections and leading / reviewing incident investigations.
The suitable candidate will be offered a two year fixed term contract, with a strong possibility to extend this by moving onto our clients next project.
Responsbilities:
- Provide strong WHS leadership and build a project safety culture based on open, effective communication and collaboration between all SQE and Contractor project team members.
- Build and maintain effective and collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders at all levels to foster strong awareness and commitment towards safety on construction projects.
- Lead by example by role modelling the safety-first culture, demonstrating personal accountability for self development, and achieving quality and timely results.
- Provide advice and support to our clients management, employees, and contractors on the effective management of health and safety matters.
- Undertake health and safety system and performance auditing of contractors.
About you:
- Demonstrated functional construction experience in a similar field health and safety role (approximately 5+ years). Renewables Construction experience is desirable.
- Previous experience working in a client capacity and working collaboratively with Principal Contractors and other key internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to maintain effective and collaborative relationships across diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in the application of relevant legislation governing safety management of construction/high-risk activities.
- Demonstrated ability and experience in providing advice within construction, electricity, manufacturing or similar industries.
