JD Ross Energy are seeking an Optimisation Engineer to work for our client who are one of the DNSP's in Victoria. This is a 12month contract role with scope for extension.

In this position, you will be tasked with assisting internal stakeholders in addressing technical DER challenges, overseeing the DSO systems and DER performance to proactively detect comprehensive issues, and collaborating closely with both internal and external stakeholders to implement recognised enhancements. Additionally, you will be accountable for forecasting and dispatching flexibility solutions, as well as evaluating all available tools to address system security concerns.

Responsibilities:

• Support internal stakeholders in the resolution of customer DER technical issues.
• Work closely with inverter manufacturers to provide feedback on DER performance issues.
• Optimise DER’s, DOE’s, flexibility services and network control schemes as required.
• Provide technical support, training and direction to Network Control & Operation teams.

About you:

• Degree or Diploma qualification in Electrical, Communication or Software Engineering.
• Excellent knowledge of DER technical standards
• Strong understanding of distribution connection processes for generation and load.
• knowledge of relevant Australian Standards, National Electricity Rules, and the Victorian Electricity Distribution Code of Practice.
