JD Ross Energy are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Design Engineer. 

Play a key role in delivering design services across transmission and distribution networks.
You’ll work across multiple disciplines including overhead, underground, sub-transmission and contribute to strategic design outcomes that directly impact construction efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities: 
  • Deliver timely and consistent design service outputs including project scopes, technical assessments, and feasibility reports
  • Apply safety-in-design principles and uphold WHS standards
  • Conduct investigations, modelling, and calculations to support design feasibility
  • Provide expert technical support to engineering officers and specialists
  • Review and certify design deliverables in line with statutory regulations and internal policies
  • Support stakeholder engagement through technical advice, complaint resolution, and access coordination
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
About You:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering 
  • 3yrs’ + experience in design roles within energy, utilities, construction, or consulting sectors
  • Proficiency in tools such as PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, CYMCAP and Neara
  • Experience in sub-transmission and distribution design, specifically overhead and underground
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Valid driver’s licence and relevant construction induction certifications
