An international engineering and infrastructure organisation is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to support the delivery of a major UK energy infrastructure programme. The role will focus on EPC construction subcontracting, supplier management, contract negotiation, and procurement strategy across a large-scale project environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the full procurement lifecycle for EPC subcontracting works, ensuring alignment with project schedules, budgets, quality standards, and delivery objectives.Lead tendering activities, bid evaluations, commercial assessments, contract negotiations, and subcontract awards.Develop and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.Monitor subcontractor performance and contractual compliance, resolving commercial and operational issues where required.Procure outsourced services, materials, and equipment necessary for project delivery.Work closely with engineering, project delivery, commercial, and legal teams to ensure procurement strategies support overall project objectives.Support contract negotiations and commercial discussions with both local and international stakeholders.Maintain accurate procurement records, reporting, cost tracking, and contract status updates.Analyse market conditions, supplier capabilities, and procurement risks to drive cost-effective sourcing strategies.Ensure compliance with corporate procurement procedures, governance requirements, and industry best practice.Support audits and continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function.
Required Experience
Minimum seven years' procurement experience within large-scale EPC, infrastructure, construction, energy, utilities, transmission, or industrial projects.Proven track record managing subcontract procurement and construction-related contracts.Strong understanding of procurement principles, contract law, commercial risk management, and supplier management.Extensive experience working with recognised contract forms such as NEC, FIDIC, BIMCO, or equivalent.Demonstrated success negotiating high-value contracts and managing strategic supplier relationships.Experience leading tendering processes, bid evaluations, and supplier qualification activities.Good understanding of project delivery, scheduling, cost control, and quality management within major projects.Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.Proficiency with procurement systems and standard business software.Degree qualified in Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, Commercial Management, or a related discipline.
