An international engineering and infrastructure organisation is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to support the delivery of a major UK energy infrastructure programme. The role will focus on EPC construction subcontracting, supplier management, contract negotiation, and procurement strategy across a large-scale project environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full procurement lifecycle for EPC subcontracting works, ensuring alignment with project schedules, budgets, quality standards, and delivery objectives.
  • Lead tendering activities, bid evaluations, commercial assessments, contract negotiations, and subcontract awards.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and contractual compliance, resolving commercial and operational issues where required.
  • Procure outsourced services, materials, and equipment necessary for project delivery.
  • Work closely with engineering, project delivery, commercial, and legal teams to ensure procurement strategies support overall project objectives.
  • Support contract negotiations and commercial discussions with both local and international stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, reporting, cost tracking, and contract status updates.
  • Analyse market conditions, supplier capabilities, and procurement risks to drive cost-effective sourcing strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate procurement procedures, governance requirements, and industry best practice.
  • Support audits and continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function.

Required Experience

  • Minimum seven years' procurement experience within large-scale EPC, infrastructure, construction, energy, utilities, transmission, or industrial projects.
  • Proven track record managing subcontract procurement and construction-related contracts.
  • Strong understanding of procurement principles, contract law, commercial risk management, and supplier management.
  • Extensive experience working with recognised contract forms such as NEC, FIDIC, BIMCO, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated success negotiating high-value contracts and managing strategic supplier relationships.
  • Experience leading tendering processes, bid evaluations, and supplier qualification activities.
  • Good understanding of project delivery, scheduling, cost control, and quality management within major projects.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with procurement systems and standard business software.
  • Degree qualified in Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, Commercial Management, or a related discipline.
