Location: Remote- Australia, preferably Melbourne or Sydney
Reports to: Head of Investment- Singapore
Our client is a German investment and development company focused on generating and managing essential assets on behalf of its clients. By investing in clean energy and sustainable infrastructure, the business contributes to the global energy transition and strengthens the world's infrastructure backbone. The company initiates, develops, and manages these essential assets along the entire value chain and lifetime. Currently, the business manages over AUD 20 billion on behalf of institutional investors worldwide.
The Position
PPA / Originator. The business is responsible for the management of all power exposures and the associated hedging activities worldwide, whether through PPAs or other instruments. You will play a key role in businesses market facing activities in the APAC region.
Your Responsibilities
  • Develop long-term relationships with a large number of counterparties for the businesses renewable portfolio with an initial focus on New Zealand, Australia and South Korea, but also supporting other markets when needed
  • Work with industry, corporations, and other long-term partners to develop innovative solutions based on the clients services within PPAs, power trading, green certificates and other relevant offerings within the wider group.
  • Identify opportunities in close collaboration with relevant key stakeholders within the wider group while taking the holistic responsibility for the relationship with external parties
  • Identify new products and market trends that could be relevant for our counterparties
  • Represent the group at key events and conferences
  • Solid knowledge of APAC power markets.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in the power industry with a focus on project development, origination, energy trading and/or financing
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, combined with a structured mindset, attention to detail and project management skills
  • Sales driven and motivated with a proven track record of origination
  • International and multicultural relationships skills with a focus on external as well as internal stakeholder management
  • Good understanding of complex products and the ability to explain these to our clients and counterparts.
  • Anticipate policy/regulatory developments in relevant markets in APAC
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English are a must, additional Asian languages are a strong plus
