Environmental Compliance Coordinator
$30 - $39 per hour

JD Ross are currently working multiple Environmental roles in Virginia with a major energy infrastructure business.
 
Position: Environmental Compliance Coordinator
Location: Various locations across Virginia
Type: Contract (12 months)
 
This is a pivotal role will support our client’s commitment to environmental stewardship across various job sites in Virginia, specifically within Electric Transmission operational teams. The successful candidates will play a crucial role in ensuring our operations comply with all relevant environmental, chemical, waste management, and permit regulations.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to environmental laws and regulations across multiple job sites, focusing on chemical and waste management, and permit requirements.
Site Operations: Share responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of work sites, upholding our high standards for environmental, health, and safety practices.
Communication & Reporting: Liaise with internal teams, external partners, government agencies, and customers. Prepare and submit detailed environmental reports as required.
Inspection & Advisory: Conduct inspections and assessments related to environmental compliance. Offer actionable recommendations to ensure compliance across all operational levels.
Training & Education: Develop and deliver environmental training to site personnel on various topics, including chemical and waste handling, spill prevention, and erosion and sediment control.
 
Qualifications & Experience:
 
Essential:
Certifications: Valid certifications from the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality for Erosion / Sediment Control Inspector / Stormwater Management Inspector.
Technical Knowledge: Understanding of erosion, sediment control, and stormwater management. Ability to interpret environmental regulations and translate them into practical compliance guidance.
Regulatory Acumen: Comprehensive knowledge of environmental regulations, including multimedia environmental scope and permits.
 
Desirable:
  • Familiarity with a broad range of environmental regulations, such as RCRA, ESC, NPDES, HAZWOPER, SARA, SPCC.
  • Specialized training for offshore environmental projects in Virginia.
  • Additional certifications such as CESSWI, HAZWOPER 40, Certified Hazardous Materials Handler, and others related to environmental compliance and safety.
